Preserving the Stories of a Place and Its People

In 1961, while working on her teaching degree at George Peabody College, Charlene Frey, undertook a project to help preserve local history and lore. Her paper Folklore in the Forest Grove Community captures both the stories and the language of "our people" on the Ridge.

That they may carry on for generations to come, Charlene has agreed to share her stories with her neighbors
. Following is the first installment from her collection and other segments will be added in the near future.
