Members Who Received Gaylord
Contributions Should Recuse
Themselves from Vote

requested that this opnion letter
he wrote to members of the Metro
Council be shared with the
community.
To All Council Members:
RE: The third and final reading
of
BL2007-1555/BL2007-1556/BL2007-1557
It is my opinion and
recommendation that any council
member that has received and
filed with the Election
Commission a campaign
contribution from Gaylord,
Gaylord Affiliated PAC, Gaylord
Executives or Gaylord Lobbyists
should recuse his/herself from
the third and final readings of
these ordinances. I believe this
is necessary to eliminate any
conflict of interest or any
violations to the Ethics Policy
should any be pending from
passage of these ordinances.
It is my opinion that support of
the ordinances is not the will of
the majority of people of
Davidson County, (YOUR
constituents) but rather the will
of parties contributing to
political campaigns. Whether this
is an issue for the Ethics
Commission to review or not, in
my opinion it definitely leaves
the impression of unethical
conduct to the public.
I am anxiously awaiting responses
from the News Media on these
issues. It is my opinion if there
is anything questionable they
always seem to have the means to
find it.
It seems clear to me why the
third reading will be after the
Aug. 2 election. I am sure before
this issue is resolved, in my
opinion, it will be very clear to
your constituents as well.
This is just another example of
why I decided to run for Metro
Council District 1.
